Lynn Thompson and I have received numerous calls regarding the need to file a lien to secure payment on projects.  Many of those who contact us have a general understanding of the lien law but are unaware of the specific requirements for perfecting a lien and enforcing their lien rights.  Many have called for assistance past the time we could put Mississippi’s special lien statute to full use for them. We thought it would be helpful to have a primer for commercial contractors and material suppliers to know more about how to protect their payment rights, so Lynn and I prepared “A Contractor’s Basic Guide for Filing and Enforcing Construction Liens”.  Anyone in your organization who cares about getting paid should read it.  If you would like a copy, please contact Lynn or me.  We look forward to hearing from you.
